group) figured it was time to take the Gottardo challenge. For me it
was am imperative anyway....

The route:
Zürich 5 AM
Total 16:15 hours, 12 hours actual riding time. 230 km, 2300 altitude meters. Very quiet until Amsteg. Motor vehicle traffic increased then, partially heavy on the Gotthard route. Little traffic own the Leventina. If you get the side road before Biasca, it's nice and rural all the way to Cadenazzo. Monte Ceneri is a bit of a challenge if you're already tired from almost 200 kms... but there's no other way to Lugano.
