The Reliant Scimitar GTE was born in 1967 as a design prototype by Ogle. Reliant built close to 11'000 units between 1968 and 1980. Princess Anne liked to drive it because it had room for all her horse riding equipment. The car had a short revival in 1988 when Middlebridge took over the tooling, but they only produced 77 vehicles.
